Fiesta Verde 2008
An Evening at the Farmers' Market
Make your reservations
now: the most anticipated summer bash of Aquidneck Island, the
Aquidneck Land Trust’s Fiesta Verde, is fast approaching and
space is limited! With honorary chairs Mr. and Mrs. John A. Van Beuren
and Mrs. and Mrs. Louis Escobar and co-chaired by Michele Foster and
Lisa Lewis, the festivities are set for Saturday, July 26, 2008 at
Newport Vineyards, an ALT conserved property.

This year’s theme,
An Evening at the Farmers’ Market, is inspired by the wonderful
work that our local growers and producers do right here on Aquidneck
Island. The fine catering will feature mouth-watering appetizers,
entrees and desserts made from fresh, local fruit, vegetables, meat
and dairy, and many local farmers and artisan producers will be
present at the party, hosting farm stands where party-goers can meet
them and learn about their businesses.
The party begins at 7pm
with abundant passed hors d’oeuvres and signature cocktails. The Duke
Robillard Band, featuring legendary blues guitarist and Roomful of
Blues founder Duke Robillard, will take the stage after dinner filling
the tents with powerful blues sounds. The Raffle offers two exciting
prizes: a rooftop party for up to 20 people at Newport’s Hotel Viking
or a 4-day trip to California’s Sonoma Valley. Silent Auction tables,
with impressive artwork, elegant jewelry, fabulous get-aways and more,
will be open until 10:15pm and the festivities will end at midnight.

Dress is informal, with
ties optional. Just remember when choosing your shoes to keep in mind
that the event flooring will be the field provided by Mother Nature.
