July 30 * Bellevue House
Make your reservation before it's too late!
MIDDLETOWN, R.I., July 12, 2005 - Set for July 30, Fiesta Verde, Aquidneck Land Trust's principal fundraiser, has been masterfully created to introduce guests to exotic and mythical places like Atlantis, Shangri-La, Incan Ruins, and the Great Pyramids of Egypt. Reservations are now being taken for this blockbuster Newport event.
Integrating the Fiesta Verde theme with the necessary mission of the Land Trust, party planner extraordinaire Richard Carbotti declared "My goal is to transport people to lost places of their imagination sending a message also that our own places cannot be lost."
Blackstone Caterers will provide delicious foods to compliment the exotic theme of "Legendary Places" with seafood (Atlantis), Mexican fare (Incan ruins), Sushi and Thai cuisine (Shangri-La), and Middle-Eastern edibles (Pyramids of Egypt).
Central to the goal of exploration and discovery will be a silent auction, which can be previewed online at AquidneckLandTrust.org, to include these amazing trips as well as some outstanding art and other items:
The Mittledorf Preserve in Carmel, CA
Vieques Island, Puerto Rico
Belgravia, London's best-kept secret
Cambodia and Thailand
a Vermont Farm House retreat
Abaco Club on Winding Bay, Abaco, Bahamas
Fiesta Verde's presenting sponsor is William Vareika Fine Arts, Ltd. and corporate sponsors include Edwards & Angell, LLP; The Hilton Group, Smith Barney Citigroup; Lila Delman Real Estate; Kirshenbaum & Kirshenbaum; National Geographic Society; Mr. and Mrs. Lyn Comfort; Blackstone Caterers; Excelebrations; and Richard Carbotti, Perfect Surroundings Inc.
Last year, the event raised significant funding to help preserve open spaces on Aquidneck Island. This year's Fiesta Verde starts at 7:30 p.m. at Bellevue House, an exquisite private residence. For certain levels of sponsorship, an intimate pre-party will be held on the premises.
Attire is festive green or come as your favorite explorer. Reservations are now being taken. Limited reserved parking available with advance reservations. For information, contact Courtney Watson at 401.849.2799 x 18.
