Fiesta Verde Surpasses Goals by Raising $250,000!!

Wow, that was some party!

Nearly 700 Aquidneck Land Trust patrons made Fiesta Verdešs Green Expedition: a journey to lost legendary places a green windfall for the Land Trust mission! $250,000 is a major accomplishment for the Land Trust and we thank you for your incredible generosity.

Our honorary event chairs, Ron Fleming and Sandra Ourusoff, were the most gracious hosts and Kathleen Glassie and Tim Ely kept the momentum going throughout the whole process. Bravo Zulu (Great Job) to Board Chair Alison Vareika for those many sleepless nights making sure that Fieste Verde delivered the highest quality experience to our donors.

We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to presenting sponsor William Vareika Fine Arts as well as Edwards & Angell, LLP, Lila Delman Real Estate and The Hilton Group, Smith Barney citigroup, for their strategic corporate support of Fiesta Verde.

The Land Trust was honored to welcome Senator and Mrs. Claiborne Pell, Senator Jack Reed, and Secretary of State Matt Brown as well as Ambassador William Middendorf, who donated a marvelous painting to the silent auction.

The ultimate success of this yearšs Fiesta Verde could not have been possible without our designer extraordinaire Richard Carbotti, event planner Barbara Beckwith, our caterer Jim Boyd and Blackstone Caterers, Anthony Conetta and CORT Furniture Rental, Newport Harbor Corporation and its affiliates, Arthur Grover and Aardvark Antiques, Bill Corcoran and Newport Tent Company, Bob Morrissey and East Coast Lighting & Production Services, Everett Hoag and Acorn Event Productions, Larry Green and Rentals Unlimited, and Max Dittleman and East Greenwich Photo & Studio. We encourage you to patron these thoughtful supporters of the Land Trust!!!

Equally important, the board and staff of the Land Trust thank our incredibly generous silent auction donors.  Your art, vacations, products and services brought this element of Fiesta Verde to new heights.

Save this Date for next yearšs Fiesta Verde: Saturday, July 29, 2006 and please contact David F. Guertin, Jr., Development Director, at dguertin@ailt.org or (401) 849-2799 x 13 to become involved with the 2006 Fiesta Verde.
